Divergent reminds me a lot about The Hunger Games. The way that Veronica and Suzanne the author of The Hunger Games use the same technique. Their both about the control that the government has over the people of their civiliazation. The theme of Divergent is corruption in the faction and like The Hunger Games there is a lot of corruption because of people like Katniss and Beatrice want to rebel against and go against the government.
Both of them use some type of test to judge and make sure that the government has copmplete control. They don't let anyone stand out. Or let them be an indiviual. In the government's eyes everybody should remain equal but Beatrice and Katniss are alike in that way.

In the book Divergent byVeronica Roth is about a girl named Beatrice and there are five factions that carry out certain duties in each faction. The government is in complete control. The word for that control is Abnegation. Beatrice is sixteen years old and all teens around sixteen go to take a test, the aptitide test. This test will help them decide what faction they want to be in.
Beatrice has a brother named Caleb who is also going to the take the test. Beatrice is tested by a member of the Dauntless faction who reveals that Beatrice's results tag her as a "Divergent." I'm not
that far in the book but so far its really good in my opinion. I love the way Veronica uses her words. The way she describes the setting makes you feel as if you are there.
